The tools I reach for, on one bench.
Draw a receive chain and watch the cascade update as you edit it. Load Touchstone files and compare parts on rectangular or Smith axes. No uploads, no accounts: your files never leave the page.
Block diagram in, cascade out.
This is rfblock, my RF block-diagram editor: 27 block types with schematic symbols and real ports, drag-and-drop, undo/redo, copy/paste, a saved-parts library, and PNG or JSON export. On this page it also computes. The example is the receive chain from the home page. Select a block and open its settings (⚙) to edit gain, NF, P1dB and IP3, or drag new blocks in from the library. The cascade follows the connected signal path from the antenna, ignores the LO, and reports noise floor, sensitivity and SFDR for the bandwidth you pick.
Conventions
- Every stage is assumed matched (no mismatch loss). Noise figure by Friis at T₀ = 290 K; matched passives have NF = insertion loss.
- N-way splitters along one branch: loss = 10·log₁₀N + IL. Mixers: gain = −conversion loss; NF defaults to the conversion loss if none is given.
- IP3 combines as a reciprocal sum of output-referred values in mW, the worst case where distortion products add in phase. P1dB uses the same sum as a first-order approximation. A blank IP3 means ideal.
- The signal path is found from port roles, not wire direction: it starts at a receive antenna, never follows an LO, and takes the first branch of a splitter or switch.
- Sensitivity = kTB + NF + required SNR. SFDR = ⅔ (IIP3 − noise floor).

Drop in up to ten .s1p to .sNp files, or load the synthetic demo parts. One click selects return loss, insertion loss or isolation across every file; markers snap to data; trace math works across different frequency grids.

Load Touchstone files
Drop .s1p … .sNp files anywhere on the viewer, up to 10. They are parsed in your browser and never uploaded.
No data loaded
Drop Touchstone files here, or load four synthetic demo parts: two units of a 5-pole bandpass filter, an LNA and a patch antenna.
Click the plot to drop a marker on the nearest trace point · drag it along the trace · arrow keys move a focused marker, Delete removes it

No traces yet. Pick a parameter on a file card, or use RL / IL / Iso.
Trace math
Plot two traces to subtract a baseline or add losses.
